Schipper, Ignacy
(1884-1943)
   Polish historian and communal worker. He was born in Tarnow, Galicia. He was a member of the General Zionists from 1922. From 1922 to 1927 he served as a deputy in the Polish Sejm. Later he lectured on the history of Jewish economy at the Institute of Jewish Sciences in Warsaw. His writings include The Economic Conditions of Medieval Polish Jewry, The History of Jewish Economy and History of Jewish Theatrical Art and Drama.
